Texas DWI Laws: Know Your Rights
Imagine for a moment that you are at a bar or restaurant with some
friends. You’ve had a few drinks while enjoying a great meal and fun conversation. Then,
while driving home, you are stopped by a police officer who questions whether or not
you’ve had too much to drink. |
Do you know your rights?
For example did you know that: |
- You do not have to answer any questions.
- You do not have to agree to perform roadside tests.
- You do not have to agree to have your eyes tested.
- You do not have to agree to blow into a hand-held breath tester.
- In most cases you do not have to take a breath or blood test.

Whether or not you should agree to exercise
your rights depends on a number of factors, and each case is different. If you have
